Legacy Jazz Series

Julian MacDonough and Legacy Jazz are extremely proud to present a new series aimed at promoting the best young jazz talent in our area, framed by some of the NW’s top jazz musicians.
The first two musicians to be featured for this series are also two of the greatest young talents I’ve ever seen come through Bellingham

Matthew Chen is a saxophonist who is a senior at Sehome High School and an absolute incredible talent, who will be heading to the east coast in the fall. All I’m going to say about Matthew is, he is hands down the most talented jazz musician that has ever come out of Bellingham, so don’t miss him while he’s still here

Duncan Lang is a graduate of WWU and an extremely melodic and soulful trumpet player. He is always listening extremely hard to what’s happening around him musically, whether he’s playing, or waiting to play, and then contributes in the most connected and present way. The way he connects every idea to the next always takes the listener on an adventure.
